Reporting to the Manager, Policy Risk, the primary responsibility of the Policy Risk Analyst is to evaluate the potential insurance risks associated with pet health insurance policies. The Policy Risk Analyst will examine and analyze veterinary medical records, making necessary adjustments to policies, which may include adding exclusions to new policies or modifying or removing exclusions from existing policies. This role is essential in maintaining risk levels within acceptable and manageable limits for Petline Insurance.
To support effective and efficient risk assessments of pet health insurance policies, the Policy Risk Analyst is expected to possess a solid understanding of veterinary medicine, particularly regarding canine and feline anatomy and physiology, as well as techniques for diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases. Knowledge of treatment modalities, including pharmaceuticals and their interactions, alternative treatments, and preventive health care practices is essential for this position. Additionally, the Policy Risk Analyst should be familiar with the regulatory requirements and legislation pertinent to veterinary clinics and professionals.
What do you bring to the role?
– Graduation from an accredited Veterinary Technology program
– Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a veterinary practice, preferably small animal
– Bilingual French/English required
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English
– Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions with colleagues or customers
– Capable of working independently without supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment
– Proven commitment to achieving individual and team goals
– Proficient in applying critical thinking techniques
A high degree of proficiency with English and French required to service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.
