The Winnipeg Humane Society’s One Health program heads out into First Nations communities on a monthly basis. We are always on the look out for more volunteer RVTs to join our growing program. We have spot available for drive in communities as well as fly in areas. Please message me for more information and we can see where we can fit you in.
Our October trip will be to Long Plains. This is a 1.5 hours drive. Surgery days would be Oct 5-6. We are looking for 2 RVTs to work 1 or both days. Food, accommodations, and $0.60/km mileage for driving is provided.
Role: Surgical prep (Sedation/induction/scrub patient etc), basic physical exams. Vaccinations, nail trims, anesthetic monitoring and recovery. IV placement when needed. Drug calculations and Rx prep.
