Sage Creek Animal Hospital is excited to welcome a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to our growing team! We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled technologist with a minimum of one year of small-animal experience. Familiarity with the ezyVet Practice Management System is an asset, but not required.

Key Responsibilities
As an RVT at Sage Creek Animal Hospital, you will:
Patient Care & Exams
– Check in patients and complete pre-exam procedures (weight, temperature, medical history, presenting concerns).
– Handle and restrain animals safely.
– Assist with examinations and provide ongoing patient monitoring.
– Perform wound care, apply dressings, and conduct fluid therapy.
– Conduct follow-up calls and provide client education on home care, nutrition, vaccinations, medications, and post-operative care.
– Offer grief support with compassion and professionalism.
Surgery & Anesthesia
– Prepare exam and surgical rooms.
– Administer and monitor anesthesia.
– Complete sterile techniques and prepare surgical instruments.
– Assist with surgical procedures and patient recovery.
Diagnostics
– Take and process radiographs; assist with ultrasound.
– Perform catheterizations, blood collection, urine collection, and other technical procedures.
– Accurately complete diagnostic lab work (hematology, urinalysis, fecals, cultures).
Emergency Care
– Assist in emergency procedures, including wound management, hemorrhage control, oxygen therapy, intubation, CPR, bandaging/splinting, and other urgent treatments.
Hospital Support
– Maintain equipment and ensure regular servicing.
– Assist in inventory management (ordering food, supplies, medications).
– Support reception duties when required.
– Uphold clinic policies, contribute to a positive team environment, and promote a healthy, safe workplace.
– Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Minimum Qualifications
– Completion of a recognized Veterinary Technology program.
– Active MVTA & MVMA member and compliant with MVMA regulations, including CE requirements.
– Strong knowledge of general patient care, surgery, radiology, and medications.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
– Able to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision.
– Positive, open-minded, coachable attitude.
The primary role of the RVT is to deliver high-quality patient care while supporting our veterinarians and team with professionalism, compassion, and dedication.
